"GROSSDEUTSCHLAND" OFFICER OVERCOAT
This is an rare overcoat belonged to an officer of the élite unit of the Wehrmacht, the "Grossdeutschland" Division.
Coat is made in field-grey wool and dated 1941 and is complete with all its insigna, shoulder board with cyphers and cufftitle. All them have a matching patina. They look to be perfectly machine period applied.
Shoulder boards are sewn into the shoulders, they mount the gilted metallic cypher "GD". Under it is well visible a neat shadow.
The overcoat show complete lining, made in ribbed cotton/rayon, and all the markings are a little faded but still readable, all made in black ink.
The condition is excellent, the overcoat shows a lovely patina, light usage, and it has no tears, no holes. It was upgraded by the owner during the war from a EM/NCO one.
A wonderful "Grossdeutschalnd" officer overcoat is rare to see offered on market.
