KRIEGSMARINE TUNIC FOR PLURIDECORATED CHIEF MACHINIST

Kriegsmarine Stabsobermachinist (Chief machinist) Jacket, belonged to a NCO that took part in the famous battle of Narvik.

The jacket is made of high quality dark blue ribbed wool. There are five (one is missing) visable gilt KM buttons (marked Maedicke and Kriegsmarine) as well as a flap covered hip pocket on each side. The right breast has a hand embroidered gold bullion and celleon KM eagle handsewn to tunic. On the left side there are a breast pocket as well as loops for 3 badges and a ribbon bar with 3 ribbons.

On the left sleeve there is still sewn in place a Kriegsmarine gold finished Narvik arm shield. The shield is in very nice condition, with its original finish still present almost completely.

The shoulder boards for NCO have 3 rank pips and a buntmetalll anchor with a cogwheel indicating the owner was a Chief Machinist.

Inside the tunic is lined in black rayon with classic striped rayon in the arms. There are two breast innerpockets.

Tunic is in very good, with the right amount of wear and a nice patina.

A very nice and scarce uniform belonged to a soldier that really saw action on seas.
