ARMY (HEER) 4 YEAR LONG SERVICE MEDAL

The Army 4 years long service medal ("Heer Dienstauszeichnung für 4 Jahre") is constructed of die struck magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with a Heer/Kriegsmarine clasp, parade-mounted on a magnetic metal backer with a horizontal pinback.
The obverse of the medal shows a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of "TREUE DIENSTE IN DER WEHRMACHT" ("faithful service in the Wehrmacht"), the reverse has a central raised number "4", within an oak leaf wreath.
The medal is unmarked, measuring 30.12 mm in diameter, in very fine condition.
It comes with its original rare paper packet, marked by Peter Wilhelm Heb of Ludenscheid. Packet is a pre war (or ealry months of the war) production.
