Great find from the Naples rags depot: an untouched Luftwaffe Officer (Hauptmann) tunic.

The Luftwaffe tunic is made in fine trikot in the typical blue gray coloration; it displays the insignia of a Hauptmann (Captain) of the Pilot/Para branches. Shoulder straps are sewn on with two rank pips and the collar tabs are hand sewn to the collar with period thread.

The left side of the tunic (breast pocket) carries loops for a badge, the other side shows a bullion hand embroidered eagle hand sewn to the chest.

The interior of the tunic is fully lined with blue-gray rayon lining and shows minor wear and light discoloration on the edges; the inner pocket still has its original tailor tag with the date, the rank and the name of the owner (Leutnant Rinter – 13.3.39).

The tunic shows some minor wear and remains in overall excellent condition with a great patina.

A superb and untouched piece of history.
