GEBIRGSJÄGER M43 TUNIC

SOLD!

M43 field/grey tunic, made in wool/rayon, worn but still in nice condition, for a Gebirgsjäger Unteroffizier (Oberjäger). This tunic is one of the finds coming from the Naples rags depot.

Field-grey, wool/rayon blend construction field blouse features a vertical, six button front closure with a single metal hook and eye positioned at the neckline.

The field blouse has four, non-pleated, front pockets with flat flaps.

Collar tabs/litzen are zig-zag machine stitched to the tunic, Gebirgsjäger Edelweiss badge is hand sewn to the sleeve, and the breast eagle was, at some point replaced. The eagle is so badly attached that is very possibly a period modification. This is also supported by the fact the tunic was fond in Naples rags depot as it is.

Tresse on the collar was added during the war and it sits over the collar litzen.

Tunic has a nice matching pair of Gebirgsjäger NCO shoulder straps with rayon green piping.

Interior of the tunic is complete and lining is also marked with measurements on the right chest.

A East Medal ribbon is hand sewn over the left breast pocket.

Tunic shows a good period wear and use and has the expected, quite heavy, patina that makes it appear areal "been there" piece.

A very nice combat tunic.
