"GEBIRGS-POLIZEI-REGIMENT 18" M42 FIELD TUNIC

SOLD!

Amazing combat M42 factory made Polizei field tunic for a NCO with the rank of Zugwachtmeister (or Platoon watch master) of the Polizei-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 18 (that became SS-Polizei-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 18 in 1943), the only Gebirgsjäger (Mountain) Regiment of the Polizei forces.

Arm eagle and collar tabs are machine stitched to the tunic fabric, and shoulder straps are the type with tongue for a NCO. The Edelweiss on the left arm is hand sewn; it has a couple of stains.

Tunic is fully lined with the typical cotton/rayon and black ink markings, including the one of the Wien depot, are still readable on the right chest. No tears and a couple of small moth holes. Very rare detail is the presence of the unit stamp "II./Geb.Pol.Rgt. 18" in black ink under the usual size markings.

The jacket is in a superb condition, used, with a very nice patina.

A great Polizei combat tunic, and extremely rare to find being a Gebirgs-Polizei one.
