"GROSSDEUTSCHLAND" NCO M36 UNIFORM

SOLD!

Very nice "Grossdeutschland" M36 tunic for a Unteroffizier (non-commissioned officer).

Field-grey, wool/rayon blend construction field blouse with a lay down collar features a vertical, five button front closure with a single metal hook and eye positioned at the forward neckline.

The field blouse has four, pleated, front pockets with pointed edged button down flaps. The breast pockets are the standard type. 3 sets of original award loops to the left breast pocket. The right breast has a hand sewn BeVo machine woven, national eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a wreathed, canted, swastika in it’s talons in white rayon threads on a cut-out, woven, green rayon base. Early pattern collar tabs. "Grossdeutschland" cufftitle to the lower right sleeve is original to the jacket and hand sewn to it. On the secon button hole is still hand sewn the ribbon for a War Merit Cross 2nd class.

Shoulder straps with white piping shows the same hand stitched tresse as the jacket and the "GD" monograms on them are originally factory machine embroidered.

Original dressing pocket is still there. Internal ribbed cotton/rayon lining is complete.

Signs of use, some minor moth holes, and little reparations are visible here and there, but overall the tunic is in slightly worn but very nice conditions, with a lovely patina.

A wonderful "Grossdeutschland" tunic.
