LUFTWAFFE RARE FLIEGERBLUSE 1st PATTERN

SOLD!

Very rare, in extremely fine condition, NCO flight blouse without external hip pockets, because it is a first pattern.

The Luftwaffe blue/grey, wool/rayon blend construction flight blouse features a vertical, five button, French fly, front closure with the buttons on the right front panel and corresponding button eyelets on the left front panel.

The flight blouse has NCO shoulder boards with saddle brown wool waffenfarbe piping.

The collar features saddle brown wool collar tabs with 4 gulls. The collar tabs are machine stitched to the collar. The shoulder straps and collar tabs indicate the rank of Oberfeldwebel serving with the air communications corps (Lufnachrichtentruppe). The interior of the flight blouse is lined in grey, ribbed cotton/rayon.

Lining is marked and all the markings are still well visible.

A very important detail to know is that this tunic NEVER had an eagle sewn on it, since it is a first pattern, without pockets, made in 1937, and that should heve been used from flying personnel.

The chest eagle on the Fliegerblusen for Luftwaffe EM/NCO was in fact introduced with the order No. 1290 of October 1, 1940 published on the LW order sheet dated October 14, 1940. To this date the EM and NCOs were required to acquire an eagle and have it sewn on the chest, while the Fligerblusen produced from mid-October 1940 onwards had the eagle already sewn from the factory.

The chest eagle on the Fliegerblusen of the Luftwaffe officers, on the other hand, was prescribed immediately.

Markings inside the lining confirm it was produced from Paul Burgiel factory and approved for use in 1937, from the Reichsluftministerium (Nachrichten Abteilung).

Great and very, very rare tunic to find, especially in a such incredible condition.
