JULLEUCHTER – SS CANDLE HOLDER MARKED ''K''

A very nice and in good conditions Julleuchter, or known as the Jul candle holder, used from the SS during the winter solstice.
Julleuchter was awarded to SS men and its possession was registered also in Personalakten.
This Julleuchter is made in bright orange clay, typical of the last production period, and is a type 4 pattern.
A couple of cracks are visible close to one of the four ''foot'', but they are shallow and do not constitute a real damage. The Julleuchter is solid.
A very important details that makes this SS candle holder very rare is the presence of the letter “K” under one of the foot. This letter is very rare to find and its true meaning is still unknown, it is only assumed that the pieces "K" could have something to do with DEST (for comparison and understanding see the chapter of this research entitled: "PRODUCTION") and production of ceramics in the buildings of the Neuengamme camp, made with clay for the manufacture of bricks for the building industry.
