POLIZEI 8 YEARS SERVICE MEDAL

Introduced on January 30, 1939, to reward the service of the forces operating in the Polizei, this medal for faithful service initially had 3 different classes: that of 8 years, that of 18 and that of 25. Subsequently, on August 12, 1944 it was also introduced by regulation that of 40 years, but there is strong doubts about the real existence of this award, which was possibly never produced.
The medal offered here is made of nickel/silver plated tombac (Buntmetall) and its finish is almost perfect. It still has its original blue ribbon and the period stitched pin that was used to fix the medal on the uniform.
