WAFFEN-SS OFFICER VISOR CAP

Wonderful and rare saddle shape Waffen-SS Officer visor cap.
The cap shows some wear and some moth holes are visible here and there (see pictures). Black velvet band is still in almost perfect condition, silver cap cord shows a dark patina (it is really super patinated!) and buttons show no loss of finish. Zinc insigna are matching and firmly sitting in place.
Inside the cap is finished in a very attractive yellow silk, the celluloid diamond is still sewn in place and the maker mark logo is still readable (Kassel Mutzen); also the owner name tag is still in place "Willi Hoffmann" (possibly Wilhelm Hoffmann, Untersturmführer who served in SS-Artillerie-Regiment 16).
The brown leather sweat band (one tear) is still soft and in great condition.
A very rare and desirable Waffen-SS officer visor cap, a wonderful been there piece, perfect for display purposes or to complete a mannequin!
