SS M43 OFFICER CAP WITH REMOVED INSIGNA

Very nice M43, attributable to SS, with removed insigna.
Field-grey, wool/tricot blend construction cap with a subtle whipcord weave features fold down back and side panels with a downward scalloped front edge and forward sides and a double button front closure.
The top edge of the crown is trimmed in age and usage dulled, bright, interwoven, silver/aluminum braiding.
Cap is fully lined in grey rayon and is nicely maker marked to "Kempel & Leibfried, Urach". Size marked "57".
Traces of original stitching and shadow remain from where the eagle and skull where removed.
Great cap, perfect for a restoration project.
