INFANTRY EM/NCO OVERSEAS CAP

October 1935 pattern (M34), for EM/NCO, field-grey wool/rayon blend construction cap with fold down side and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops to the front and forward sides. The cap has metal alloy ventilation grommets.

The front center of the cap has hand stitched national eagle and national tri-color cockade.

The cap has an inverted "V" white soutache flanking the cockade. The soutache has been applied by hand stitching in place, with yellowed cotton thread, and inserted through two small puncture holes near the bottom edge of the cap. The cockade is machine applied to the wool.

The interior of the cap is fully lined in ribbed cotton twill. Maker marked to "Lago - Berlin". Size marked 57 and dated 1941. Other hand made writings present on the lining.

A worn, with great patina, infantry overseas cap.
