Nice quality, field-grey wool/cotton blend construction, overseas cap features fold down side and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops to the front and forward sides.

RBNr size 56 year 1943

The front center of the cap has a machine woven national eagle in golden yellow threads on a cut-out, woven, blue/green, rayon base. The front center of the fold down panels has a machine woven national tri-color cockade, on a woven, diamond shaped, blue/green, rayon base. The insignia is machine stitched to the cap. The cockade is flanked by a golden yellow rayon, inverted, "V", soutache. The soutache has been applied in the correct manner, being machine stitched in place and inserted through two small puncture holes near the bottom edge of the cap. The interior of the cap is fully lined in grey cotton/rayon blend material. RBNr marking is still visible, with the number of the factory, the size 56 and the year 43.

The cap is in overall very good condition with light nap wear and minor age and usage toning.
