Nice quality, Erel, field-grey wool and rayon blend construction visor cap with a subtle whipcord weave, a blue/green badge cloth centerband and light green wool waffenfarbe piping to the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the centerband. There are a couple of small moth holes, hidden by the shape of the sides of the cap.
The internal crown stiffening wire and an internal vertical stiffener to the front center are both intact and give the cap a nice, relaxed, saddle form shape with a high central peak. The front center of the cap features a second pattern, stamped, polished natural aluminum national eagle positioned above a two piece, silver and gilt washed, stamped alloy construction, edelweiss.
The front center of the centerband has a bullion wire made oak-leaf wreath encompassing a three piece national tri-color cockade.
The cap has a twisted silver/aluminum chin cord which is secured in place by two, small, silver washed, pebbled, alloy buttons. The cap has a black lacquered vulcanfibre visor.
The interior of the cap is fully lined in ribbed golden/tan rayon. The crown lining has a clear celluloid sweat diamond intact with a couple of missing stitches. The lining beneath the sweat diamond is well marked with the Erel Sonderklasse logo. On the front side lining there are no holes, it means that the insigna were possibly never replaced.
The cap is in overall very good condition with minimal age and usage toning. The cap is roughly size 58. Very nice cap.
