ERNST KALTENBRUNNER SIGNED DOCUMENT

SOLD!

Here is offered a very scarce hand signed document by one of the most important and dangerous Third Reich leaders, Ernst Kaltenbrunner.

The document is a typed letter sent to Josef Burckel, Gauleiter of Vienna, who heavily promoted the Anschluss including anti-Jewish decrees and the seizure of Jewish properties.

Letter, dated August 1939, is about their joint account for "Eingezogene Werte" (that means confiscated goods). That was a private account they had, where they got money earned from the sale of the jewish confiscated items. Kaltenbrunner credits Burckel 1,000 Austrian shillings via a Vienna bank and asks that documents included be signed and returned.

Kaltnbrunner was the successor of Reinhard Heydrich after his death in 1942, he was Chief of the Reich Security Main Office (RSHA) and later Chief of the Security Police. In this second position, Kaltenbrunner controlled the Gestapo (German Secret State Police), Criminal Police, and Security Service (SD). He was a prime figure in the “Final Solution” in the last years of the war.

At the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg, Kaltenbrunner was found guilty on counts three and four (war crimes and crimes against humanity). He sentenced to death and was hanged on October 16, 1946.

A very rare document signed by one of the most powerful and dangerous leaders of the Third Reich era.
