Wonderful set made of Waffen-SS Tropical "Sahariana" Field Blouse (SS Tropen Feldbluse), used, for an Artillery NCO, + short tropical pants + tropical cap.

Because of the service in tropical regions in the Balkans, Greece and southern Russia the SS developed in circa 1942/43 assorted tropical uniforms and headgear that basically followed the same patterns of the continental items. Included with the tropical garments was the "Sahariana" style field blouse which was based on the popular Italian "Sahariana" bush jacket.

The tunic shows a vertical, four button front closure, complete with all buttons. The field blouse’s shoulder strap fabric retaining tunnel loops are present. The interior of the field blouse has a field dressing pocket with a single button closure to both the left and right side. The field blouse is showing traces of usage and some stains, and has a great patina.

Tunic is complete of its original yellow arm eagle (that is machine sewn the the sleeve) and has a nice pair of shoulder straps with red rayon piping for Artillery troops. Tunic is a very nice combat one.

Along with the tunic the set includes a very nice matching pair of tropical Waffen-SS short trousers, produced in ribbed cotton, that are worn, with some small stains, but still in good conditions. No tears.

The last piece of this wonderful set is a very rare Waffen SS tropical cap, with hand made, possibly factory, applied insigna. Shadows under the insigna cap are perfectly matching with them.

The cap is made in ribbed tan cotton and tan cotton lining. It is marked size 57 (very faded but still patially visible), has been worn and shows some light soiling and a minor usage, but still in perfect condition. It has a great patina, matchin with tunic and pants. Insigna are the correct yellow type.

A full set like this is seldom offered for sale.
