TOTENKOPFRING DER SS - SS HONOR RING GROUP

Rare Heinrich Himmer Honor Ring (or "Totenkopfring der SS"), '30 style ring in worn conditions but with runic panels still visible.
This is a very important ring, belonged to a SS officer who served in Waffen-SS and died fighting on eastern front.
Inside the engraving is pretty nice and still intact. It says: "S. lb. Hampel 7.3.36 H. Himmler".
Otto Hampel was born on april 12, 1895, he fought in WWI and got the EK2. In early '30 he joined the Party with the number 1405849.
After that he joined the SS and his SS Nr was: 54121.
In middle '30 he served in various SS Reiterstandarte then in Russland with the Totenkopf, the Kavallerie Brigade, then the Kavallerie Division. He fought also against partisans and he was fighting on the front line, south Charkow (Merefa area), with the 1st Regiment of the SS-Kavallerie-Division when he died on august 23, 1943.
The ring comes along with almost 300 files from the german archives about the owner, so there are really a lot of informations about this officer.
The group belonged to this SS officer consists also in his tunic buttons and shoulder boards nails, and his gold wedding ring (engraved with his wife initial letters and the date of wedding – everything matching with the files in the SS archive).
A very important piece of history belonged to a member of the Waffen-SS.
This ring will be published in the upcoming (2021) new book of Antonio Scapini about the SS Honor Rings, a definitive, scientifical book on the subject.
