Rare and great specimen of the Fallschirmschützenabzeichen der Luftwaffe by GWL of Lüdenscheid.
The two-piece construction badge features a die struck tombak based and gold gilded eagle with a cast zinc based wreath. The reverse of the eagle is marked with the maker's mark "GWL" inside a circle.
The reverse displays the correct two tombak rivets and the integral catch and hinge with its tombak pin.
The award comes housed in a nice case, very well constructed, with good materials, but it is a modern one, a copy.
A gorgeous badge, that still retains almost completely its original finish; rare to find.
