SD OPEN COLLAR OFFICER TUNIC

SOLD!

Here for sale a killer example of a heart-grey service tunic of a SS-Hauptsturmführer in the Sicherheitdienst (SD).

Overall condition is excellent, it is IMO an untouched tunic.

Made in fine german trikot with officer shoulder boards, collar tabs and cufftitle are machine sewn. "Alter Kampfer" rank chevron and bullion sleeve eagle are hand sewn in the proper way with period thread.

This type of uniform was introduced in 1932 for the SS personel only. In 1935 were introduced the heart-grey tunic with armband (with swastika), that was replaced in 1938 by the sleeve eagle. This type of tunic, heart-grey with open collar and sleeve eagle was also used by the SD.

The tunic showed here belonged to a SD officer (SS-Hauptsturmführer) who served in a territorial command (the black cufftitle was only used by those serving in the territorial commands of first and second level).

No traces of the SD diamond, possibly never applied to the sleeve. Many historical/photographic evidences show SD men with cufftitle and no sleeve diamond.

Nothing more to add for an amazing and extremely rare to see unifom, seldom seen offered on market.
