Great Luftwaffe M35 helmet, in very good condition, from the manufacturer ET, lot 3825 and size 66.

The helmet comes in really excellent conditions; the original varnish is still almost completely present and both decals are still visible, are almost complete and show the typical age signs.

The skin of the interior and of the chinstrap are still soft, and everything is untouched.

The helmet is marked with blue ink with the following writing: "J.Gr.III/234" that stands for III. Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 234 "Schlageter". This unit was created in Dusseldorf on July 1, 1938 and was equipped with aircrafts Ar 68E and Messerschmitt Bf -109D. On November 1, 1938 it was redesignated as I. / JG 143 and finally on January 1, 1939 as the I. / ZG 143 with a view to being equipped with the heavy fighter Messerschmitt Bf-110C.

The Group was led by Hauptmann Wilhelm Lessmann (the 1. Staffel created on on July 1, 1938 and the rest of the group on August 1, 1938). Lessmann with the rank of Major was shot down in Russia on 1942 and his total number of kills when he died was 24.

Very nice helmet, an important piece of history for each helmet collector.
