Luftwaffe blue/grey, wool/rayon, blend construction cap, features fold down side and back panels with a scalloped front with a two buttons closure at the front center. The buttons appear to have their original stitching.

The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearers ears and neck and the scalloped front section could be secured with the buttons closed under the wearers chin. The top of the crown edge is piped in bright silver/aluminium cord, indicating the use for ranks from Leutnant to Oberst.

The front center of the cap has bullion embroidered insigna. Eagle and cockade are possibly original stitching to the cap by hands. The cap has an extended cloth covered forward visor with an internal cardboard stiffener. The interior of the cap is fully lined in grey rayon and size marking 55 is still visible.

Nice worn and slightly used, with very nice patina example.

It would be very hard to find a Luftwaffe Officer M43 cap with more appeal.
