Kubanka for Don or Kuban Cossacks, having a body of field grey wool, lined in quilted grey colored cotton, cap is unmarked but is a large size about 58.
The cylindrical part of the headdress is in typical feldgrau wool and is surrounded with dark lamb fleece; the top panel is red wool and it is criss crossed with two lengths of dress style metallic NCO tresse which are straight machine stitched, a silvered aluminium Heer cap wreath and a silver Heer cap eagle are attached to the cap's front with prongs.
Condition is excellent, cap shows minor usage and a nice patina.
A scarce cap to find.
